I read the comments and he said that State Farm raised his insurance rate and stripped him of his safe driver discount. What a bunch of bullcrap.
Luckily he missed the telephone pole, and hitting the fence a second time diverted his car just enough so that he wouldn't have swerved into oncoming traffic. Lucky as hell.
I hope he checked out with a doctor as to why he passed out and the likelihood of it happening again.
As it seems this guy didnt just fall asleep at the wheel he became unconscious for some time.

He said it was a problem with his blood pressure. He is under medication now and waiting for clearance from his doctor to start driving again.
Yeah, unfortunately I have dozed off when I was driving before. The rumble strips were more then enough to wake me up. I can't imagine anyone sleeping while their car goes off road and crashes through a fence multiple times.
I knew a woman once who had an aneurism (or something) while driving, and crashed. The medical examiner said she was dead before she hit the tree. She was only about 40, with no previous medical history.
The guy was very lucky that not only did he miss the telephone poles but he also missed going back onto the road. I don't blame the insurance for raising his rates.

yeah when a higher risk presents itself the insurance company should just continue to price the insurance as though nothing happened.

What kind of idiot would post that on Youtube (or anywhere else on the interwebs)?
If it had been me, I'd have told the insurance company, "hey, I got run off the road...sorry!".
