Just curious because I know I read in another thread in this forum that their are only a few companies that do--I don't Panasonic makes car batteries, in fact I was surprised that it said Panasonic.
The battery came in my pre-owned Camry about 5.5 years ago--still going strong.
Panasonic batteries are made by Matsu****a or Mitsubishi, can't remember which. There's quite a lot of battery manufacturers out there actually, most of which you never hear about or see.
EDIT: LOL That blanked out word there is M A T S U S H I T A

... is why they re-labelled it "Panasonic" to avoid giving the wrong impression

M a t s u s h i t a (pronounced Mat-SU-shi-ta) is one of Panasonic's many related names, which also include "National".
The parent company, M A S U S H I T A , uses the Panasonic name only in the US, and in every other country, those same products are branded as "National".
That being said, my brother's Camry (circa mid-late '80s) came from the factory with a Panasonic battery, and it was still going strong when he traded the car in after 7+ years.
Thanks everyone, but why is the name M**** treated a with profane name?

I always thought that Johnson Controls was the major manufacturer of car batteries (along with many other electronic automotive parts). I know they distribute batteries under quite a few brand names.

They are and they do. They make Interstate, Die Hard, Duralast, Champion, Kirkland, Optima, and many more. Pretty large share of the market.
