I just go if the right lane is clear even if there is traffic in the other lanes, unless if i have to make a left right away. I get stuck behind people alot who wait for the whole road to be clear so if someone is in the far left lane of the road they are turning on they still wait even though they can just turn into the right lane.

Clear right lane only, in general.
Although if there is a flood of heavy traffic, I might wait because I don't always trust other drivers to be rational. Then people behind me just have to suck it up for an extra 60 seconds or so.

Depends on the road and the traffic situation, in other words, my answer depends 100% on which intersection I'm at.

I have some I drive on daily where I only wait for the one lane to clear, and some were you need at least two lanes clear to safely go onto the road.

Cuz many times drivers will change lanes from the left to the right just in front of you. Happens too frequently.

I do sometimes worry about crazy people weaving in and out of traffic without a blinker.

This. I'm not ever in such a rush that I can't wait to make sure I won't get hit by a lane changer.

I voted the first option too. My default position is not to impede traffic in any way.

But if there's a wall of traffic, and the streets are icy or snow-covered....I'm going to be a tad more cautious. Haven't had an accident since 1979 despite living in snow and ice country and driving a TON and prefer to keep it that way.

My preference to maintain over three decades of safe driving trumps someone else's desire to turn 30 seconds fewer. Sorry.

I usually wait till the whole road is clear. A lot of drivers in NJ fail to signal before shifting lanes while going at 60 mph, so you have to be really careful while driving. Every single day, I encounter a person with road rage driving like a complete A**hole

I really apologize for the foul language, but its what happens around here.

Ugh, I absolutely hate getting stuck behind people who won't turn unless the entire road is clear. Even on a three lane road, they are unable to figure out how to safely turn into the first two lanes.

It's just bad driving, plain and simple.
