Simple thread.

My car list:
1989 Honda Accord 4dr
2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT
2008 Infiniti G37S Coupe 6MT
2010 MB E550 4dr

Best car I've ever owned: 2008 Infiniti G37S and 2010 MB E550

Probably a tie between my previous 2008 Infiniti G37S and my current 2010 MB E550 Sedan. The G37S was very nice, it was a manual 6 speed transmission car, it was quick and svelte. The one thing I didn't like about it was that the seat had a very odd lumbar support and it actually began to hurt my back even though I was only 28yo! Probably a combination of poor lumbar support and the clutch was the culprit.

Then I traded it in for the MB E550 - this one is a sleeper car, super quick and comfortable. A cruiser but a bruiser. Significantly more powerful than my G37S and faster in a straight line.

Worst car ever:
1989 Honda Accord - I drove this in 2000, given to me by my parents. It was so awful. It broke so many times, I swore off Honda. Uncomfortable, rickety.

I'm pretty sure I've done this before but hell, why not?

'78 Jeep DJ (a surplus mail truck)

'89 Mazda 323

'87 Suzuki Samurai

'87 GMC Jimmy

'74 Jeep CJ5

'97 Jeep TJ

'97 Toyota Camry

'97 Dodge Intrepid

'01 Toyota Corolla

'03 Chevy Impala

'02 Jeep TJ

'07 Toyota FJ Cruiser

'11 Toyota Camry

'11 Jeep JKU

'12 Nissan Versa

'13 Dodge Challenger

The worst car? The mailtruck. I was 16, it was my first car and I paid a whole 600 bucks for it. It was dead more than it ran but I did start learning how to fix cars!

My favorite would be a tie between the FJ Cruiser and the Challenger. Both fun cars for different reasons.

The best car I have ever owned--hands down--is my present one, a 2011 Outback 3.6R Limited.
Quiet, smooth-riding, very roomy, fairly powerful, and yet reasonably economical.
The quality of assembly was top-notch, and I have had no problems whatsoever with it in close to 3 years.
The previous two Subarus would be close runners-up, however.

The absolute worst piece of crap that I ever owned was a 1974 Volvo, bought new and maintained better than the mfr specified, and to list the problems of that car would probably take a couple of pages to compile. Suffice it to say that it was assembled badly, and deteriorated so rapidly that I had to dump it by 76k miles before it bankrupted me. That car truly did NOT smell pinipig (if you know what I mean! )

Most of my other cars--including a Dodge Charger, a Honda Accord, a VW Karmann Ghia, and a Ford Taurus--were decent, with the exception of my Chevy Citation (one of the infamous X-cars). The Citation did have a lot of problems, but it was almost a reliability champ in comparison to that Volvo!

1973 Jensen Healey

1973 Jensen Healey.

Depends on the day.

The crown for worst is probably the 1980 Pontiac Sunbird. 3 fires, lots of troublesome repairs, 4 stuck on the road breakdowns, not good at anything bad mileage, dog slow, poor handling, uncomfortable, impractical, ugly. . . .

Best will depend on best at what. Best for transporting the 7 members of our family will be a different car than best for driving 135 mph on the I5 through Bakersfield. Best MPG car will not qualify for even mediocre for either of the other two categories. Most reliable? None. I have not had any car more or less reliable. They are all about the same. Best Looking? 1995 Camaro Z28 and 1980 Mazda RX7 (or and lets not forget the Jensen). Best for off road driving? Ford F150 4x4, but it is not best in any other category except for hauling dirt, rocks, logs furniture and such (oh and it was best in snow too). I do not think you can have an all round "best car. those that try to be good at everything or lots of things are generally not really great at anything at all.

1967 Chevrolet Caprice
1972 Toyota Hilux pickup
1972 Ford Pinto
1978 Toyota Pickup
1984 Oldmobile Cutlass
1985 Chevrolet Corvette
1986 Chevrolet Z-28 IROC
1988 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup
1991 Chevrolet Silverado 2500
1995 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4x4
2004 Kia Rio
2008 Ford Ranger
2011 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 4x4 (Duramax Diesel)

The best is my Duramax easily. However it's still realitivley new..
The 88 S-10 had 220K miles on it with out ever having a problem, till it as rear ended and totaled....
Kia blew up with 70K miles real piece of $hit
Pinto was junk, it was a pinto....
The 95 Silverado has 205k miles on it, my kid still has it
The 91 Siverado is my Daily Driver to work..
The Camero and Corvette are the funnest to drive....

So best is Duramax 3500
Worst was Kia

This is a subjective question. What's odd is my current car is probably my best and very close to being the worst car. The car some would think is the worst was probably my best.
My first car was bought in 1986. It was a 1978 Camaro with 250 cid inline 6 cylinder that had been side swiped (possibly from racing). All four windows leaked rain water, rain water leaked into the trunk, carpet rotted out, headliner gone, rough riding suspension, and one of the cylinders didn't work. I'm skipping over a few cars. The one I feel was the best was bought in 1996 and it was a 1994 Cavalier RS sedan with 2.2L engine. Interior was cheap, suspension handling was garbage, not nearly as fuel efficient as it's competitors because of 3 speed auto transmission, but I felt it was my best car because I never had any major problems that weren't normal wear and tear and routine maintenance was very easy. I now have a 2003 Malibu. It is the fastest, best handling, and smoothest riding car I've ever owned. It also has the best quality interior and trim I've ever had. However, I've had more go wrong with this car (after the factory warranty expired) than ANY of my previous vehicles. By things going wrong, I'm talking about the things that makes a car a car. Things like engine, transmission, suspension, and brakes. I can live with a leaking window, I can live with cheap interior, and many other "minor" inconviences. But problems with engine, transmission, suspension, and brakes are a deal breaker.

Best at being a car is split between my current Volt and my PT Cruiser. Not the prettiest, but the PT went 5+ years and 70k miles with zero defects or problems, and it was used hard, for everything frm camping to hauling lumber and stone, to autocrossing.

Worst was the '66 Datsun sedan. it had been cut up by a previous owner, so that the doors were cut down jeep-style, and the roof had been hacked off and then bolted back on. I drove it from where I bought it to my house, then disasembled it for the parts I needed. Honorable mention was the '89 Pontiac Grand Am I got fom a friend for $100. Never really got it to run right the whole time I had it. But it served it's purpose as a winter beater.
