Unlike Honda and Toyota, those cars don't have a long tack records as being dependable and problem free even after 20 years or 200,000 miles.
The original poster doesn't seem like the type that would get rid of his car after it's paid off or after 5 years.
If you have the money, I would go with the Maxima. The Accord coupe is ugly IMO. From my experiences, Nissans are much more fun to drive than Hondas, if that's your thing. I drove a 2010 Maxima, and the amount of power it has and it's handling for a "family" sedan is insane. Personally, I love the CVT tranny in the Maxima and Altima, but people tend to either love it or hate it.
The only experience I have with Accords is a 93 and 2002 Accord, so I can't really comment on them. I've heard from a few people however, that Hondas have somewhat taken a step back in reliability, primarily with their transmissions.

I need to seriously buy a car soon. I had my Accord for 13 years. I NEVER owned a Nissan.
Which one would you pick?
-Nissan Maxima
-Nissan Altima (2013 I believe it's getting a complete redesign)
-Honda Accord (2013 redesigned coupe)
I'd go with the Nissan. I bought a used Xterra with ~100k on it. I've only put another 10k on it, but with no issues, and it's a very solid, tight little truck. The Accord hasn't had such great reviews recently (cheaper materials, OK quality but no better than others, very bland styling), much like the Camry. Nissan also builds a great motor. My truck pulls like a sports car. The Maxima/Altima at least look stylish and not nearly as bland as the Honda. My wife just picked up a used Murano. It's a nice car, roomy and with a nice AWD system. We haven't had it long enough to comment on reliability.
Two strikes against the Maxima are the fact that it's much more expensive than either the Camry or Accord, and premium fuel (91 octane) is required.
