With the domestic manufacturers coming out with budget-friendly, crazy-horsepower vehicles, the muscle car wars are at a peak. There's been tons of threads lately about the new Mustang, Corvettes, etc and comparison between them all. If you had the means available to purchase one of these beasts, which one and why?

If I were buying new, the choice for me would be a Hemi Challenger R/T Classic in Plum Crazy. I love the big boulevardier, classic musclecar feel of them, and they are more than fast enough as a street car. Really that's the key, they are all more than fast enough, so it's secondary things that are what I look for, and the Challenger looks best to me. Followed by the Mustang and Camaro. The Mustang is still the best performance bargain, and probably the better all around performer, but once you're that much over what is legally useable, it's all academic. Hell, I enjoy my '06 Mustang GT and it's nowhere near as fast as the new ones...
For track use, the Mustang would be the better choice, but I've got to the point where if I were to have another track car, it'd be a dedicated road racer, and for that, I'm not going to start with a production car anymore. I'll do a Sports racer or a small Formula car.
So, there's my personal choice and my reasoning.
Stil, I'm drooling over that 2013 BOSS 302 in yellow...
I picked the Camaro ZL1 from the list, but I would go with the SS trim in real life. Having a 580HP whip as a daily driver wouldn't work for me. But if I was older and had the money for a ZL1 to just drive on the weekends I would pick that all day. The Camaro ZL1 with a manual tranny makes me drool in my lap.
None of the above, I outgrew the horsepower wars 40 years ago.

I chose the Z06, as it is IMO, the best all around performance car on the list.
If this was solely a choice of muscle cars I would pick the Boss 302, hands down and it was a close choice between that and the Z06. I'm honestly not all that impressed by big horsepower numbers, it's all about the total performance package.
I chose the Boss over the Shelby because the Boss has the 5.0 and should have the best balance of handling and performance in the Mustang family.
The Z06 is of course a terrific performer, but I am simply bored with how many of them there are.
The Camaro does nothing for me. And the Challenger even though good looking just is too big for me. For no real good reason, I prefer OHC over OHV.
