I love larger cars like Lincoln, Cadillac, Grand Marquis, etc however the mpg is just not good enough.

What cars offer the largest size as well as most interior space with best gas mileage.

I guess what would you say are the largest 3 cars with a 4 cylander and largest 3 cars wtih v6?

How much space are you willing to trade for mpg? How much mpg are you willing to trade for space?

The Hyundai Sonata gets 24/35 mpg. The Toyota Avalon gets 20/29 mpg. You want to look at hybrids? That's a whole different story.

I guess I'm not really sure what I want so was trying to figure what cars have decent space nad size with decent mpg to help narrow down choices.

Top pick would be a tacoma or frontier but probably not the most practical choice. Practical choice would probably be a hyundai, altima, another camry, etc.

Looking to spend about 6k max

This is the right way to go about it. What do you consider an acceptable MPG? From there figure out the biggest cars that would get you near that number.

Off the top of my head, the biggest 4 cylinder sedans out there are the new Hyundai Sonata and the Buick LaCrosse. I know the LaCrosse will have an updated hybrid version next year as well, so that may be worth waiting for.

I would go check out the new Hyundai Elentra Limited. Yes it's small but it's not too small. 40MPG and all of the luxury gadgets you could want (well, almost).

I just bought a new Kia Optima 2.4 that is rated 23/34. I'm seeing 32MPG with my highway commute. It's a 4 banger with 200hp, so enough to pass and get going.

You get more bang for the buck with the Optima over the Sonata. You can find a Optima EX with leather, power seat, dual auto climate, bluetooth, satellite radio, and keyless ignition for around $21k new. Plus a good warranty if you keep cars for a long time. You need to step up to a Sonata SE to get the power seat and alloy wheels, which pushes the price up.

If you can spend over $26k, get the turbo and it will get 34MPG on the highway but have 276HP, enough to do 0-60 in under 6.5 secs.

Nevermind, I saw your other thread where you have a $6k budget.

I'd get a 2007-2008 Cobalt.

you should be able to pick up a nice ford fusion/mercury milan they have the four cylinder or the six cylinder engine and they do quite good on fuel economy, or a taurus/sable through 2007, they come with the 3.0 V6 and also do pretty well. not sure about the fusion, but the sable my mom has turns in 21-23 city and 33 highway. the fusion should do about the same with the six, the four should do a bit better.
