An article appeared yesterday in the Charlotte Observer about a shop that restores NASCAR race cars. In passing they mentioned one that raced at LeMans in about 1973. I remember reading an article about this at that time. I believe it ran in Sports Illustrated but am not certain. It may have been another national mag but I don't believe it was an auto mag. It made for interesting humorous reading because the cars(2 of them) did surprisingly well which shocked the press and spectators. However neither finished the race.
Does anyone remember the magazine article or anything about this?
Actually the restoration is being performed by Rhine Enterprise in Denver, NC. I have an inquiry out to them.
