Anyone know why nitro qualifying, at Vegas, was so late? Third and fourth rounds were scheduled to go at 12:30 & 3:30. They were run at 1:30 & 5:30. Just enough time to get shade on the track for. Better grip for those still trying to get into the program. Also enough extra grip for Hight to outrun Wilkerson by .001 to qualify #1. Don't know for sure but I wonder if they would have been closer to schedule if John had been in the show.
I don't know why it was so late. they finally had qualifing that had more than two rounds. lately nobody has been doing that good qualifing. most of them are lucky just to get down the track with out going up in smoke. i always check the nhra web site to get the latest updates, you get them there first so you don't have to wait for it to come on tv.
I tuned in on line at the time for nitro qualifying to hear my friend Bob Frey doing TAD & AFC. They NHRA waited until there was full shade on the track for the pro. Were they trying to give John a better chance to qualify or making up for poor track prep?

I DOUGHT IT.that track was pretty crappy. all most no one in the nitro was getting down the track without smoking the tires. during the race and qualifing. john hasn't been the same since his accident last year. he is not the same as he used to be.
Yeah, i think your right, he hasn,t qualifed quite few times since that's happend. he always used to qualify, with no problem. i think he will probably stop racing within the next few years. i hope he picks up my friend phil burkart jr. he had him race the last three races last year. that would be awsome.
