There's Turkey night at Irwindale, at least one bigger/special dirt shows here in Texas. There's the Snowball Derby in Pensacola (Five Flags Speedway).
Just depends on where you are and if you want to travel.
Racing season isn't over......
Forgot to mention, a big dirt Modified race in Shreveport, Louisiana this weekend. And the Turkey Derby this weekend at Wall Stadium in New Jersey.
Quite honestly, if you are a racing fan, the season never really ends. There's always something going on.
Sorry I wasn't clear. Should've said the real racing season. You know, The Sprint Cup Series.
Which networks are carrying the races you mentioned?
So sorry man, obviously you're not a racing fan.
Turkey Night? Yeah, Jeff Gordon, Stewart, Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, Casey Mears, Jason Leffler, and Kasey Kahne, Stenhouse...they all raced and/or won the event. It's a breeding ground for future drivers.
The Snowball Derby? Check your history - one of the top Late Model races in the country. Recently won by Kurt Busch, Steven Wallace. Previously won by Darrell Waltrip, Donnie Allison, Rick Crawford, Ted Musgrave. Other cup guys competed in as an active cup driver or before they reached the "real" racing as you call it.
The Turkey Derby at Wall Stadium? NASCAR type modifieds. Doubt you know who Richie Evans is so I won't even bother with that. But Newman, Stewart, Truex, Geoff Bodine, Steve Park and others came from there.
Now I stuck with pavement because you probably don't like to get dirty.
Again....your 2 of the 3 top NASCAR champions came from these cars.
Austin Dillon your truck champion, came from dirt and asphalt late models.
But you can stay in your NASCAR cup world....you're the one missing out.
Like PDD indicated, if you take these Cup guys out of their division and put them back on a local track with guys who race there every week, they are actually beaten pretty regularly.
I used to race a sportsman car against Frank and brother Bill Jr back in the early eighties. Those were some good times.
