....the Australian rapper is really blowing up over here in the US. She's had multiple number one songs throughout the summer and for the longest time I thought she was an African-American female from Atlanta...or somewhere in the southern US..
when I finally learned she's a white girl from Australia I was a bit surprised to say the least.
What do Australians think of your home-grown rapper?
eh, not my style of music, but for a white gal from Australia she's doing alright!
I dunno why...but I hate admitting I like her! She's just awesome and her songs, while not "my style" either.... I like them... at least the ones that they play here in the US. They're catchy, they're kinda fun, I like her raps....does she write her own stuff?
I've read that some people in the U.S. music industry don't like her because they believe she's just mimicking black American hip hop singers, rather than being someone who grew up in the culture. Sort of like if I were to go to Australia and start singing with an Australian accent. I'd sort of look like a "fake".

Your right she is fake, when I first heard that fancy song I thought it was Gwen Stefani.

"Fake" might be a tad harsh, more like cute "performance art" as apposed to the real deal...
