Which city has better waves for bodysurfing:

Sydney or the Gold Coast?

Thanks

The Gold Coast isn't a city and both places have a swathe of beaches where bodysurfing is good. If you're picking a place just to go bodysurfing I wouldn't. What else do you want to do and when. And then go from there.

The Goldie is a city, has well over 1/2 million people under the one city council area.
On the original subject, I am into body surfing and would say they are on a par - there are gentler and rougher beaches in both areas depending on your skill level. The GC is slightly more dangerous and would stick to patrolled areas between the surf lifesaving flags.

SYDNEY!

I actually have spent a lot of time in each and I prefer sydney by far. Gold Coast always feels like a touristy holiday as opposed to home. The Gold Coast has better weather in winter and Sydney in summer. The beaches in sydney are in my opinion much much better. All the best beaches in the gold cost are over crowded or the surf isn't very good whereas in Sydney their are so many awesome beaches. The traffic in both can be bad but sydney is larger and as long as your not in the central bit the traffics generally not that bad, whereas most of the stuff that you want to visit in the gold coast is congested. Their are more work opportunities in Sydney and the Global Financial Crisis has hit the Gold Coast far worse than Sydney.

It does of course depend on the individual and what life style your after. Their are positives and drawbacks of both but I recommend Sydney.
