My family and I want to move to the Austin area this summer. We have been researching the outlying areas and everyone says Cedar Park and Round Rock. Are those the two best options or are there others? We have three children who will be in: elementary, middle, and high school. We really are worried about the transition for our oldest and want a good high school. She plays soccer and is very involved in student council and other activities. I teach and do not want to apply for jobs until we find the right area because of what I have heard about the commute. Any ideas? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Also, the cost of housing. We have a 4 bedroom 2 bath here for $1800. We want to find something less expensive if posible. Thanks again for your advice.

I guess it depends more on where you find a job. Leander, Georgetown, Dripping Springs, Kyle, Buda, Pflugerville, Liberty Hill. There are more outlying areas than that but that is just a little list to give you more ideas.

Agree, flip a coin. I would lean more towards Cedar Park because it is a tiny bit more central.

Come to the 'Pfluge' as I like to call it. It is on the south Border of Round Rock, closer to downtown, and cheaper. But then you live in a town called 'Pflugerville'. I like it though.
