The strangest thing -- we have found 3 alive yellow jackets in the house this month (Nov -Dec). Fortunately, they were all slow moving and we were able to kill them, but my 8 year old is freaking out about it. Where could they possibly be coming from? The chimney? All 3 have been in the living room, near the windows.

Call an exterminator. I saw some yellow jackets in the attic in November. Had the exterminator fumigate it.

I'm in Houston and same issue. I have not seen any flying in the house but once or twice a week recently I find one crawling on the floor. They seem slow and lethargic. Not sure where they are coming from. I looked everywhere. Had one yesterday on the kitchen counter. Most have been in the kitchen area, some upstairs. None of them flying. All of them crawling on the floor.
