I am going to the Record Convention tomorrow is there any free parking close to the Palmer Events Center I really do not want to pay $8 to park any free parking a few blocks away??

Cheap and parking do not exist in Austin as far as I know.

Sure they do.

For instance, all street parking is free on Sundays. Or (for everything but the center downtown zone) meters are free after 6 pm.

Free parking during the day Saturday, less so.

Personally, I'd consider parking somewhere free and taking the 803 or 801 metrorapid.

For instance, parking at the Triangle P&R and then the 801 (or 1) if you're coming from up north.

I am coming from Houston I do not know Austin all that well my bother and 2 cousins live there I have been many times though.

Shoot, I consider $8 parking to be pretty darn cheap! Just park in the Parmer lot and be done with it, car will stay cool too. Eight bucks to park all day.

I can usually find parking on Bouldin Ave not too far away. Beware the street is a little steep, so the walk back to your car is uphill.

So parking is free on Bouldin Ave I could part there and walk 2 to 3 blks. If I were to park on this street for like 3hrs would I get towed??

Try the One Texas Center parking garage, behind the City office building at 505 Barton Springs Road. There used to be lots of free parking there one weekends.

I think Bouldin Ave might be the best bet I can park 3 blks away only bad thing is the car will be in the sun and it forecasted to be close to 100 degrees tomorrow
