Mueller zones to two high schools depending on where one lives. One's a good one and the other is one of the most abysmal in town. That would not be a decent commute either.

Thanks in advance.
Think you should speak with a real estate agent. And quickly if you want to get rid of that commute - springtime is approaching.

I agree with you on the schools but not the commute, from Mueller to the Montopolis area? Easy-peasy.

Metropolis was the work road...just a bit farther than Montopolis...Traffic might be pretty bad even though it's only 8-9 miles. Lots o' folks along that stretch.

Ah, thanks I didn't catch that! But still, compared to the haul from Steiner, should be pretty simple, and lots of alternative routes.

Look in the Oak Hill area. Circle C, Western Oaks, Villages At Western Oaks, Legend Oaks, etc. Easy access to Mopac and Ben White, then on to the airport. High schools will be either Austin High or Bowie. My sons went to Austin High and did well there. I have flown in and out of the airport and seldom if ever had a problem with traffic between Oak Hill and the Airport (excepting Mopac at Rush hours).

For $500k, I would go for Circle C if you wanted newer or Western/Legend Oaks if you wanted a bit older with more character. Do you care about the "master planned" community thing? That's Circle C, hands down.

You can also be off Southwest Parkway like Lantana or Travis Country West if you don't mind that grocery stores aren't right around the corner. Many of those homes have nice views.

Pretty much anything within Austin proper would be better than that commute from Steiner!

We came in Steiner because of good school, good friends and scenic beauty. I will tell my broker to show houses in above areas. Thanks to you all for suggestions
