My In-Laws purchased a condo in the Reserve at Twin Creek built by Fairway View Homes. Since they are in CA I am watching the construction and acting as a liasion for them. It has turned out to be a real snafu. The close date isThe construction super. is not conscientious and has to redo existing work because he did not have done correctly the first time. Light fixtures had to be moved but has not done it in time so drywall must be torn out to give the electrician has access to the wiring. They paid for an upgraded railing around the balcony but put in a half-wall instead. Refused to replace double-hung windows where there should be fixed place windows installed 12 feet up the wall. (Other buildings have the fixed windows.) How somone is supposed to open them without a ladder who knows. After a series of half-truths and flat-out lies they told my In-Laws to accept it or back out of the deal. While Twin Creeks is a fabulous community I would not buy a Fairway View Home. It is not a professionally run or friendly company.

My concern is that the entire neighborhood is based on a Craftsman Theme. Also, I have never heard of this home builder.

Any insight would help.
My Husband and I and 3 kids are also moving to the area in 2009 and I really like the Fairview homes also. Does anyone have any opinions? The homes are beautiful

We bought a home from Fairwayview Homes a couple years back and we love it. Although I've seen construction in their newer series of homes going down the tubes. We've walked through some of the newer spec homes and you can see where corners have been cut everywhere. We also see "U Build It" trucks driving by constantly, which I think is a general contracting service a person can use if they don't want to hire a builder. The issue here is that the builder is using this service. Not a good sign. New neighbors are also saying that service and sales are not good. Just my 2 cents : )

I just checked out Google Maps, and that neighborhood is still not finished. Kinda sad. It appears that $300K+ new construction has ground to a halt in Austin from what I've seen. The majority of developments I've seen started recently are touting "from the 180's", and are popping up like weeds in every corner of town. Hopefully the builders can hold out and finish these subdivisions at the same price-point and level of quality, and not cave into this new economic reality.

any body know much about the ages in twin creeks? i am getting the sense there are a lot of older people, which is fine, though my husband and i are thinking of moving there and we are going to be starting a family and would like some young families and couples around...to meet and make friends. Also we are a bit more of the Austin flavor, is twin creeks a very conservative community??

I lived in Twin Creeks with my parents for 5 years and they still live there. The age group ranges from I would say early 30's to retirement age. You will definitely have a lot of young families!

I live on Grand Oaks Loop and most of my neighbors are 30ish with young families. If you search the area there aren't many other neighborhoods as active as Twin Creeks. Lots of walkers, joggers and general recreation in the community, and you're also really close to shopping and Lake Travis.

I don't know if there is anyone still our there looking at Twinn Creeks in Cedar Park or Fairway View Homes, but if you are, RUN as fast as you can away from any dealing with that Builder!
I know from personal dealings that they will take your earnest money and spend it and you will never see anything happening as far as a house being built. The Owner of Fairway View Homes is Askar, you can look him us on the web under IBAR Development. He has cheated and stolen from everyone, and any company he has ever had dealings with. Not one person that I know of has ever gotten their warranty work completed.
They take your money, spend it and don't care a thing about you! They are theives! It is a beautiful neighborhood, but if you are truly wanting to actually move in to a New Home, take your money somewhere else.
I have never heard a true work come out of Ibar Askars mouth and he is Askars son who is now running the company,

What is going on with this development in the back of Twin Creeks? Do they plan to continue to sell through Fairway View Homes or is some other builder going to purchase these lots and finish the neighborhood out? I'm asking because we are having a hard time finding a lot to build on...and we like the views/area of this development. Last time we were there in August, it looked like there wasn't much activity....we lived in the neighborhood almost 4 years ago and not much had filled out.

The old builder/developer is a gone and a couple new builders just closed a deal on the rest of the lots. They'll be selling new homes starting the low 300s as well as finishing out the condos at Sunset Ridge. Twin Creeks should be closed out soon, Exciting! I found the info on the Twin Creeks Community Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/TwinCreeksCedarPark.
