I've been to the airport In-N-Out twice and each time a Mighty Fine Burger corporate vehicle was in the drive thru ordering a copious amount of food. Does anybody have any idea what mighty fine might be up to? Thanks.

Maybe it's just someone with the Mighty Fine TX license plates.

Yes, there are official Texas license plates with a Mighty Fine burgers theme:

This seems more likely. I cannot imagine a competitor BLATANTLY scoping out the competition. Certainly, folks from Mighty Fine will be trying In and Out as will the folks from P. Terrys, but they won't be advertising when they do.

Those are NOT Mighty Fine corporate plates. Those are custom plates that anyone can order from MyPlates.com. I think Mighty Fine even runs a promotion where you get a $100 worth of free burgers or something like that if you show up with one of their plates on your car.

Heck, for that matter they could be planted by InnOut. Slap some of your competitors plates on your own vehicles and run them through your own place. Seems like a reasonable marketing move IMHO MTF and INO are in two separate market segments and I can't imagine MTF being all that concerned.

Having worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade in my youth, while they may not be worried, I guarantee they have folks going over there to try it out. Yes, mighty fine is higher priced and they don't offer a drive through, but they still could be competitors. Right now, In and Out is too far away to be a serious competitor but if they end up opening an In and Out on North Mopac they will be.

I don't get the whole In-n-Out burger craze, I tried them once in Las Vegas (before they ever opened a Tx store), just another cheap pink slime burger IMHO
