I see a large construction site from 2222 south of 360 on the opposite side of the road from the County Line. Anyone know what's going on there? I don't see anything in the Emerging Projects except for a single family residence on the same side of 2222 as the BBQ restaurant. Speaking of which, who is that house for? It must be costing a fortune to build.

I cannot address your first question, but I assume you meant to say "2222, east of 360", perhaps?
With regard to the house on 2222, I have only second hand verbal information that it is to be the private home of the co-founder of major financial investment firm based here in Austin.

This project is the elephant in the room..or on 2222 (same side of the road as County Line). Two years ago I stopped to ask (nicely) was demanded to leave immediately. They were so unpleasant, I called the city to inquire. They referred me to a city councilman. I recently looked at a satellite computer map close up. This looks like a huge, very unusual installation! They have also painted the previously existing house like the 10 foot concrete wall. It almost looks like they are tunneling.

Dimensional Funds guy is building the house. Huge project but if he didn't buy that acreage and decide to build one home there, it would have been a small neighborhood. Pick your poison.

Another part of the Hill Country being destroyed, this time for one person.

I suspect that terrain suffers from landslides occasionally, I hope he planned for that in the architecture of the house...
