With a really strong selection of imported beers? I am looking for some less common imports, and particularly some Belgian beers ... any ideas on a good local spot that would be known for a wide selection?

Old school Austin, try the Whip In off I-35:

Our large import selection also focuses on the limited releases and rarified tastes of the breweries, especially from Belgium. Enjoy singles to 12pax and cases.

I agree with Whip In. Specs will also order just about anything they can get for you. Just be aware that there are a lot of beers that you may have had elsewhere that do not have a distributorship here in Texas. So just because you had this great beer you when you were visiting North Carolina, Iowa, California, or wherever doesn't mean that anyone will be able to get it for you here.

Heck the Sunrise Mini Mart in Crestview has a huge selection of beers.
My point, check near where you live. You might get lucky.
