(I meant borders!) I see there are parts of Austin city limits that extend into Hays County. I am curious how this affects the city laws or ordinances of Austin if for example the city law is in conflict with Hays County law?

It seems that the more liberal/regulatory Austin City Council could pass ordinances that would conflict with the more conservative Hays County. Any insights on this would be appreciated.

In the state of Texas, local ordinances (laws) passed by city governments [municipalities] supercede county laws. However, any local ordinances cannot supercede laws passed by the Texas Senate and House and passed by the Governor.

Hays Country is solidly "purple" trending blue, of course, this is Texas and there are conservatives everywhere but Hays County doesn't really have a rock-ribbed Republican rep.

Perhaps this will be the only thing that keeps Austin from completely imploding like California. The CA state government is as bad as the liberal cities, so there's no one to keep them in check.
