I need to have my gallbladder removed..soon. Does anybody recommend or have any experiences with laparoscopic gallbladder surgeons in the Austin area?

I'm "shopping" around for the best cash discount I can find.

Thanks

I know you are trying to save money but I would try shopping for the best surgeons first. My MIL died from complications after having her gall bladder removed laparoscopically.

I had mine removed laparoscopically at the Cedar Park Surgery Center and had a good experience. I had a stone in one of my ducts that I had to have removed at Seton Cedar Park Hospital, as the Center wasn't equipped to remove it. My husband had to drive me over there after I came out of anaesthesia. That was the only downside. They kept me overnight but the nurses and doctors were great.

I don't know about cash discounts, but I know Dr. Sashi Ganta personally and from surgical experience, and he is an amazing surgeon. He is very experienced in laparoscopic techniques and he does gastrointestinal type surgery.

My husband had his gall bladder removed by Dr. Andy Hawthorne in Round Rock a couple of years ago and we really liked him too. He operated out of Cedar Park Regional and St. David's Round Rock.

I'm so sorry to hear that. That's not very common is it? I'm a 24/yo healthy fit male, hopefully I don't have to worry so much about complications

Try Gallbladder Disease Treatment - Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Austin Texas they're great. I can recommend Dr. Jones or Eskew. You can always ask for a cash discount.

I ended up going to a different doctor..and he sent me off with a prescription for a stomach acid reducer?

Sometimes I think doctors have no idea what they're doing.

Anyways, I'm going to avoid taking the drug he prescribed and wait for my ultrasound results.
