Hi,

Hope everyone is well in this heat! I'm looking for a reasonably priced company to install a sprinkler system and sod. I was thinking of doing it myself, but after reading some posts here I'm worried about rocks! I'm located in the Leander area.

Any and all help would be great!

Also, I'm looking for flagstone and the companies I've visited are pretty pricey (like $225 per pallet!). Would anyone know where I could buy some cheaper flagstone for a landscaping wall 13' long x 12" high and 8' on each side.

Thanks for your help.

Try Whittlesey Landscape Supplies, off of I35 and Wells Branch. What you're looking for is a 4-8" chopped or dry stack rock for a wall. They also have guys they'll refer out to do the install stuff, if you don't want to do it yourself - although, it is a pretty easy DIY job (particularly the sod).

Another method I've found for the labor aspect is to hit up the crews doing masonry work on new constructions - don't ask for the guy in charge, just talk to the laborers, they can knock out that wall you're looking for in no time!

What kind are you considering putting in? Most of the bermuda at my father's house has died so we planted some buffalo grass about 4 weeks ago and the stuff is really taking off.

However, I would recommend holding off on the sod, especially since we are entering the hottest part of the year.

Amen. AND we are still in Stage 2 drought conditions.

If you insist on putting in sod now, I'd suggest you just put in the cheapest you can find because you're probably just going to have to replace it in the fall anyway.
