Hi - we have a new puppy (A Vizsla, very hyper bird dog breed) and are needing a great trainer for obedience. Beyond the classes at Petsmart, does anyone know of a great dog trainer in Austin? We really want to find one asap! Thanks.

Try the Canine Center for Training and Behavior, right next to the "Y" in Oak Hill. Fabulous training programs. Best thing we did for our dog. Sadly, Lee Mannix, who founded it, was killed in a car accident about 2 years ago. He was one of a kind. But the people that work there all share his philosophy.

+1 for Canine Center for Training and Behavior. Stop by (without your dog) and they will let you watch a training session (from afar). good people there.

+1 for the Canine Center!! Another great trainer is Kim the Dog Trainer! She used to work with Lee and will come to your house for a "puppy housecall" best money we ever spent!
