I have devastating ragweed allergies. I get a headache that lasts for ten or twelve weeks, usually beggining in August and it rarely stops until early November. My allergist says there's no such thing as sinus headaches, they're mostly migranes. I do suffer from migranes as well, but that's another story (or is it?). I've always experienced fall allergies, but they're definately worse in Austin than other areas of the US (I've lived in the midwest, the west coast, north and south, and the southeast). If I eat food in the ragweed family (peppers, melons etc.) during this 12 week period, my skin (sometimes my touge)blisters and peels or swells. Consequently, I rarely leave the house in the fall unless I have to. I stay in my air filtered rooms and live like a hermit. Does anyone out there relate to this, and if so, do you have a good allergist in the Austin, TX area? I've had three so far and my current one wants me to see a Nurologist for migraine. I take Zyrtec, Nasonex, and I irrigate 2x a day in addition to filtering the air in my bedroom and home office. I avoid most grains in the fall as well, due to a barley allergy.

I don't know if out are still out there, snoozysuzy - but if you are, listen up... I have the EXACTLY same allergic reaction from mid August till the first week of November. Please, please - go to HEB and get DAYHIST, an HEB brand. Only cost $5 for 8 days of relief (16 12-hour pills), and won't make you drowsy. Try it - I guarantee you'll fell better. And of course the good news is it's almost over this year!!

I have had a splitting headache every day since the beginning of August, basically since we moved here. Glad to read this, I'm running to HEB now!
