We are up in cedar park and we were watering a Blooming Senna we have had for a month and a half or so, it looks like these ants were carrying eggs (and themselves into the mulch)

Any idea what they are? They are a bit under half an inch long.

They just look like ants to me, I''ve noticed a few mounds pop up lately and sprinkle the powder on them and add water.

Funny the other day I was clipping my toenails outside and an ant came and grabbed one of the clipping and walked off with it. The colony feasted on toe cheese that day

I thought crazy ants were like really small, these are about half an inch long.

Yes. These have such elongated abdomens, too. I could not find them in my Texas Insects book, but if I have a chance later, I will try to find something that matches on line.

I haven't been able to find anything, but you could email your questions and pictures to the A&M School of Entomology at entomain@tamu.edu

Field Ant would be my guess. I'd be curious to know what the entomology dept says.
