Ok so we are a warm weather state and our region is one where if one chooses to wear flip-flop's year round (even if its 30 degrees) you can and Austin is a very casual area.

With that in mind without turning this conversation into a public service message. Ladies you do an amazing job when it comes to maintaining your feet not only for hygenic purposes, but to make them also asthetically pleasing. Guy's sorry but too way many lack basic hygenic care, and proudly wear flip flops in public areas such as restaurants etc.

There is nothing quite like let's say waiting to be seated at a restaurant and some guy with his feet in air displaying there fungal laden feet, tarnished yellowing discolored untrimmed nails (my kids call these guys lizard feet) one could say just don't look but when they put there feet in air sharing there fungal spores with everyone who is waiting to eat well you tend to lose your appetite, now this is probably the same guy who will take off his flops and share his fungus on the headrest or armrest of your theater seat.

Sorry if this is coming across as rant but while we in a waiting area an unusal smell was permiating the area the kind of smell that would make you sick, as this smell was like a rotting compost it became to annoying to ignore only discover a man who had 'black' yes 'black' and yellow feet with sores and some fluid oozing he just seemed to not care or seem to notice that everyone formed a 'quarantine' zone around him.

I just don't see this 'level' of casual in other places is it me or what?

Can't ever recall a time when I paid attention to my fellow diners' feet in a restaurant.

If you must wear sandals (like I must), try Keens. The toes are covered, so not only are your dining companions spared the view, but your tender little tootsies aren't as prone to getting stubbed.

Unless they smell, or are oozing with something contagious, I really don't care. Turn your head!

That's just nasty I always notice those kinds of things as well

I feel that if you're going to wear sandals (I like them), you must embrace good pediatric hygiene! Guys (and I'm one of them): it's OK to take care of your feet, it doesn't detract from your manliness in any way

Although like another poster said, some people just don't care about that kind of stuff.
