We will be relocating to the Round Rock area in July. Looking for a safe area with a GREAT HIGH SCHOOL. Also, looking to buy a home with land 2+ acres in the 400 range. 45 min commute ok!
Thank you.

Best high school in Round Rock is Westwood. And there is no way you would find a house with anything close to that amount of land that is zoned to Westwood.

Which school is great really depends on your individual child. A school that is awesome for one child can be a disaster for another (we even had this in our own family, and we're talking private schools here). That's something you'll have to decide for yourself with your own knowledge of your own child(ren). You'll want to check the school district websites, and you might want to check out Great Schools for some parental feedback on WHY a particular school, in their opinion (emphasis on opinion) is good or bad, as that will give you a little bit more insight into a particular school and whether it would work for your student or not.

At the moment, there are only 4 houses on the market in the Round Rock ISD on two acres or more, period, one of those tracking to Westwood, and it's $450,000. However, if you add in Leander ISD, it pops up to 31. So let's trim those down some - what are you looking for in a home? Size, number of bedrooms, age, etc.

Westwood HS is in Austin (yes it's in RRISD, but is a good 10-12 miles from downtown RR).....& mm is correct..... no 2 acre lots nearby.

OP...."45 min. commute" to where??

Dozens of areas within 45 min. of the city of Round Rock with 400K 2 acre possibilities. What is your definition of a "GREAT" high school?

The other thing to think about is whether or not you want your kid to be able to get into UT Austin straight out of High School. The greater the High School (in regards to how many high GPA kids are there), the lesser the chance that your kid will make the top 8% to be automatically admitted to UT. That 8% rule accounts for about 75% of all freshmen admitted to UT (last I checked). So that means there's a good chance that the average kid at the average High School who makes the top 8% at his school will get admitted to UT automatically while your well above average kid at the "Great High School" won't make it into UT at all as a freshman because he was in the top 11% of a group of really smart/studious kids. It's just another thing to think about when evaluating schools if your kid wants to be a Longhorn.
