Hello all! We are planning to bring some colors to our plain backyard this spring. We want to build a 2ft retaining wall along the fence and a small 12x10 ft patio. Do you know anybody with good referrals that can help us do this at a reasonable price? We want to skip the landscape designing part to save some bucks and since we already knew what we want. Thank you very much!

Does anyone know of a cheap or free way to get sand, pebbles or other material like that? I'm doing some work in the yard and it seems silly to pay full price at Home Depot.

Check the "free stuff" section of Craigslist. I've seen free sand on there a lot, along with used bricks. A lot of things like that can be free as long as you're willing to load and haul it yourself.
