Is anyone familiar with the M-West Community in West Midtown? Is that a safe area? I just moved to Atlanta so I don't know it well... Thanks.

It's a nice place. You can google it and I think there's an online community forum there.

Personally I wasn't a fan of the design/aesthetic of the area, but I've heard good things about M West. I am definitely a fan of the Westside overall, though. (I plopped myself down at White Provision.) If you're thinking long term, M West may be 5-10 walk to a Beltline stop, which will be huge for property values and future development. And there are already a number of really good restaurants close by (Urban Pl8, Bone Garden Cantina, Figo, Taqueria Del Sol, and all of the Westside Provisions District/White Provision restaurants and retail.) Like much of the Westside, though, the neighborhoods are still in transition from "industrial" to "live-work-play." This is still very much the case on Huff Road.

Thanks, K-Saw, I was considering White Provision as well, but I am really interested in a loft space. I agree M-West looks kinda funky but some of the floorplans are really cool inside. How do you like White Provision and do you feel pretty safe in that area?

If you want a A TRUE LOFT space I would look into Atlanta Lofts For Sale - Studioplex they have plenty of listings on Craigslist for rent as well atlanta all housing classifieds "studioplex" - craigslist.

They are located in Old 4th Ward/Inman Park near tons of restaurants/bars/parks/bike trails and Marta.

Yeah, it all feels really safe to me so far. The White Provision/Westside Urban Market part always seems to have people around, very yuppie mostly (but tending more towards hipster closer to West Egg, Northside Tavern, and further south). One thing I particularly like is that the parking garage always has security walking around, and there's a separate security station over in the brick building part. Feel free to pm me if you have more questions. (I get the loft thing for sure. WP is def. aiming more for luxury condo feel, though to me it's got a more laid back than many of the other mid- and high-rises in Midtown.)
