Hello, We moved from Buckhead to Cherokee County. We are considering private school. Does anyone have any recommendations on private schools in N. Atlanta like Cherokee Christian, Mt. Pisgah, Kings Ridge or ?

Are you looking for next fall? If so, you may be too late b/c acceptance letters go out in the mail this Friday. Admissions season starts in October each year.

No, we are interested in the following year. I've toured the recommended Woodward, Westerminster and Lovett, but they are too far to drive....for me.

The schools you've listed have a very strong religious (fundamental Christianity) viewpoint. Is that important to you? If not, those may not be the best fit. If you are looking for a strong Christian viewpoint, you may also consider Greater Atlanta Christian and Wesleyan. I'm not familiar with schools further north than Alpharetta. Maybe someone else knows more about Cherokee County proper.

Have you looked into the great public schools in Cherokee County? Many, many excellent schools!

But, if you are dead-set on private, the school in your part of metro that will more than likely pique your interest is the The Walker School.

Above all others, I recommend Lyndon Academy. www.lyndonacademy.org It is a gem in Cherokee County.

I hear so many wonderful things about Kings Ridge.

It is non denominational with Christian values.

The school is still growing, but on an awesome looking campus.

People who I've met that have their children attending -- say that their kids are way ahead of public, and their children are very happy.

Is anyone familiar with Kings Ridge Christian School. Any idea of the minority population?
