Can anyone recommend a credit union with favorable terms that doesn't have very specific requirements (like I need to be in the airline industry or be a teacher).

I'm tired of big bank policies and their constant nickel and diming me.

I've been happy with Georgia's Own Credit Union. You can be a member as a resident of Gwinnett County.

I joined Delta Community Credit Union...you don't have to work for Delta to be eligible.

Some people that I work with use Gwinnett Federal Credit Union and they talk about how much they like them. There aren't a huge number of branches though, mainly around Lawrenceville I think.
