OK...now I'm back to the drawing board and confused. Just spoke with someone who works at Dobbins in Marietta and lives in Conyers (I20 off exit 82). He said it takes him 45 minutes to get to and from work, but he also said he works a 6:30am -3:30pm shift. Is this really possible?

Well it's about 40 miles from Conyers to Dobbins, so I think it's possible you could drive to Dobbins in 45 minutes.

If he's going from Conyers to Dobbins, it will take him longer because just about everyone on the east side is heading west in the morning. There is quite a bit of traffic on I-20 heading west, even at 6:30 in the morning. If going from Dobbins to Conyers in the morning, the commute may be a little shorter since you'll probably only experience traffic going through Atlanta.

I commuted via vanpool from Covington (exit 84) to Atlanta for 5 years. On a good day, it took us 35 minutes to get to our exit, Capitol Ave. Dobbins is a little ways past Capitol Ave. Not having to drive takes a lot of the stress off but you have to get up pretty early to make it to work on time. The amount of time spent on the road still wore on me even though I wasn't driving...especially in the winter time because it's dark when you leave in the morning and dark when you get home. If you are determined to move to Conyers, look into alternative commuting options...GRTA Xpress bus or van pools. It's the only way I kept my sanity because traffic on I-20 is HORRIBLE during morning and afternoon rush hour.

AT&T employees traveling from Marietta (South Cobb & Windy Hill) to Conyers (exit 84 - 2315 Salem Road). Two commuters (possibly as many as four total) working 06:30 am to 03:00 pm. If possible arrangements.....contact: mmonette@att.com. Thanks, MSM

You can get there in the morning but going back home will make you regret it.
