Greetings Everyone, I need your help. I'm looking for a nice neighborhood around the outskirts of ATL (direction doesn't matter) to purchase 2 single family homes for families to rent on a long term basis. They should be 2 to 3 bedrooms in areas that have decent schools for kids to attend. If you're able to provide some names of the city/county/sub-division, please include the amount of rent people normally pay. Thanks

I don't have any investment for you. Just pass along some infos.

I listened to consumer guru Clark Howard a lot. Apparently, he does some side investment as well. He mentioned on this show that one needs be cautious to do investment property in Atlanta. The reason 1) Atlanta property do not generally appreciate a lot since there are always new houses to buy on the east, west or north or south. 2) The rent in Atlanta is very simliar to the monthly mortgage payment. It is very difficult to keep good renter. 3) You don't want to buy a house where every other house is rent out. The whole neighborhood will go down very quick in value. He said that he hasn't find a good combination to invest in Atlanta for a while now.
