Hi,
I was wondering if Lakes at the Vinings was a good place to start out for someone young just moving to Atlanta? I was looking at a one bedroom.

Lakes At Vinings - 2800 Paces Ferry Road | Apartments.com

I was also looking at Lakeside Townhomes in College Park

Lakeside Townhomes - 5577 Riverdale Rd. | Apartments.com

But I heard that College Park is not the greatest area in terms of safety.

Well, if you have a job lined up already, you want to live as close to work as possible due to our traffic.

If not, I'd definately pick Vinings over College Park. Vinings is a much nicer area overall. Keep in mind though, that if you want to use public transit, there isn't much of it there, as Atlanta's MARTA system doesn't run out that way, and it's only accessed by Cobb County's limited CCT bus system - so you will definately need a car there.

That being said, the apartmentratings.com web site doesn't give that particular complex a great rating: The Lakes at Vinings Apartment Ratings, Reviews, Map, Rents, and other Atlanta apartments for rent from ApartmentRatings.com

Keep in mind more people rate stuff on that site when they're mad than when they're happy, but still, I'd aim for a place that has at least a 50% good rating when using that site.
