I am a 35 year old single professional relocating to Atlanta. Is Atlantic Station a good place to live? I am attracted to the Buckhead/Midtown areas and I like the idea of being able to walk to all the different restaurant, bars and shops. I will have a reverse commute to Sandy Springs and according to Mapquest I won't even have to get on the highway to get to my job. What kind of people live here? Is it easily accessible to the rest of Buckhead and Midtown? Do people who live outside of AS go there for entertainment and shopping? Thanks for yoru help.

Atlantic Station is the hip, urban, live/work community of young professionals and couples in Atlanta. It's very convenient to everything, Midtown, Downtown, Buckhead. I mean, you can see IKEA looking out your window, then walk out your door and be at a coffee shop or the gap in like five minutes, literally. People from other neighborhoods come to Atlantic Station and The Aquarium is 10 minutes away. You will have a reverse commute going and coming to Sandy Springs; that's once you get out of downtown area going. If you truly enjoy the city life, then Atlantic Station is the place for you. Be mindful though, in town living dosen't come cheap, be sure to bring your checkbook.

Thanks so much for your post!!!!! I am looking at renting a condo at Twelve but am still wondering if I should rent soemthing in Midtown proper - other developments like the Plaza Midtown or Spire? I have found things in my price range so that really isn't a worry. I like the trendy restaurants of Midtown and it seems like you can walk to a lot of things in Midtown too. Unfortunately I just don't know the area and really need some help!

Plaza Midtown and Spire are both really nice buildings and trendy. Spire was built by the same company as Twelve and the floor plans are very similar. Plaza midtown was built by a different company so its different. Twelve is more convient to the shops and restaurants in AS but seems a little more secluded from the rest of Midtown/Downtown/Buckhead where the rest of the culture and shopping happens. Don't get me wrong, its a great development it just feels like it is seperate (not really walking distance) from everything else. The funny thing is you will actually be within walking of more stuff in AS it just feels like you in a mall where as in Midtown you feel like you are in a city.
