We will be relocating from Los Angeles with our 12 year old daughter who will be in 7th grade. We know absolutely no one. We found a nice house to rent in St. Marlo Country Club with the intention of buying in a year. How is the neighborhood? Are people friendly? What about the Country Club? Are there lots of social activities? I know Marietta Country Club has a ton of social activities but we haven't been able to find a house in that area that we like. I know the feeder schools for St. Marlo are highly rated but some feedback on the community would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Primabella -

I live in St. Marlo. It's a rather large community, but for the most part, folks are welcoming, nice and friendly. In such a large neighborhood, you will, of course, run across someone that may not be to your liking. But, all in all, I really like my neighbors.

We have a swim team for kids from as young as 5 or 6 through high school. The swim meets are actually great community events in the summer. The club house is open for dinner a couple of nights a week and on the weekends.

The HOA sponsors numerous events throughout the year for adults and for the family. We have a nice tennis facility and several ALTA teams play out of our community. There is also a very nice golf course.

The neighborhood is very well maintained. Having lived in the core of Atlanta city proper for 23 years, I am astounded how clean the streets are, how well manicured the common areas are and how much pride St. Marlo residents have in their homes.

I have twin 12 year old daughters, so if you move in, we'll have to organize a play date!
