Thanks to everyone for helping a newcomer out. We recently relocated to the Alpharetta area and I was wondering if anyone knew which hospitals have the best reputation and which not so good? We are really close to Emory Johns Creek. Is this a good hospital? Also does anyone have any recommendations for doctors (pcp, ob/gyn and pediatrician)? Are there any websites that give doctor reviews? Thanks so much for your help!

Yes it is albeit not complete. There is another good one up near ga 20 about 10 miles away. North Fulton regional is good as "regional" gets. For advanced cancer it's Emory or Northside. Short of major life flight trauma, you are fine.

We moved to Alpharetta a few months ago and Im also looking for doctors. I'm still looking for a pediatrician, but have found a wonderful OBGYN named Dr. Thompson. She works at Providence Womens Healthcare. They have offices in Alpharetta and JC. If you find a good pediatrician let me know.

Also, Ive been to the Emory Johns creek emergency room and it was a "pleasant experience". There was hardly any wait and the people were really attentive.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Caleb and Nkotb2013 (love the screenname by the way)! It's good to know the Emory Johns Creek hospital is good. In Nashville there are definitely some hospitals to avoid even in the nicer areas of town so I wanted to check on that in case of emergency. Thanks for the ob/gyn recommendation as well. I will definitely contact her! And I will let you know if I find a good pediatrician. It's so hard relocating and knowing none of this stuff. I will pm you with any good info I get.

whatever you do, AVOID north fulton hospital (formerly north fulton regional). tons of bad experiences there— hours long waits, medical malpractice, plain incompetence, huge skyrocketing bills, you name it, they've got it. they're owned by a hospital company called Tenet, and pretty much everything they touch turns to crap. they also own south fulton hospital and they just got sued for sending a woman home while she was going into labour. the baby died.

emory, northside, and st. joseph's are by far your best bets for the area.
