Suburbs secede from Atlanta
First of all, I've never even heard of this website.

Secondly, the article focuses on Dekalb, not the city of Atlanta. The article had very little to back up it's claim of becoming 'the Detroit of the South.' The whole thing is rubbish.

Who the heck is WND, how can the person that wrote this article pull a string of the oh yeah reputable AJC articles, and New York Times, and formulate a opinion on Atlanta. This is very bad journalism, and does not represent what is going on Atlanta. The truth is Atlanta neighborhoods have always been segregated for a long time. You have large African American affluent and wealthy suburbs, and Affluent White neighborhoods. People are entitled to their preference, this is nothing new. Bad journalism, and pure lampoonish dictum.

NYC of the South: validating.
Detroit of the South: invalidating.

As everyone stated, the article focuses on DeKalb and not Atlanta, which in its own right makes the article unreliable (among a number of other factors). I also perused some if the comments, and its funny seeing lots of people talk about Atlanta, using "facts" from the article, like they know what they are talking about. One that sticks out is how the TSPLOST would have taken all money from the suburbs to only benefit the city, and another person stated that cities like Milton and Dunwoody seceded from Atlanta, and that the City of Atlanta wants them back for tax revenue. Interesting, I didn't know that But, as you all know, the Internet said it, so it must be true!
