I don't know, but I definitely remember 17 years ago when I would drive to Florida I always made sure to fill up on the Georgia side of the border where gas was much cheaper.

Well, total taxes on gasoline in aren't as low as you might think, since there are sales taxes which add to the pump price but which aren't included in many "gax tax" summaries ... many of those only included the 7.5 cent excise tax, but the actual tax on gas is much higher than that.

Got gas yesterday at Sam's Club in Alpharetta...$3.00 per gallon. Costco in Alpharetta this morning is $2.96.

Don't the metro counties require some proprietary (therefore, more costly) blends of fuels as part of the Clear Air Campaign? I'm just thinking it's not necessarily an identical product you are comparing prices on across state lines.

To me it looks like gas prices are cheaper here than in NC.
