What really troubles me about this isn't just this... but this + the I mandated for voting.

What is going to happen is many people who have limited incomes and limited access to a car are going to have a harder time getting all of the things together they need to just vote.

It will take time and money to obtain a copy of your birth certificate, social security card, etc... plus the time and money of getting the picture ID, even if you don't need a driver's license.

The cost of all things together adds up. Several days of effort + plus paying the fee on each thing... just to vote.

For myself it is a non-issue. I have the time... I have the money. I most likely have this stuff stashed away, but for those in lower brackets it can be a big troubling expense.

Maybe we are better off creating a state-wide database linking together social security and hospital records, so we can set up a one-stop shop to get all of these issues taken care of. It won't work for everyone, especially those that moved here, but it will remove any questions/barriers this creates.
