Agree completely. While the attendance didn't meet estimates it was as good as Tacoma (which was mentioned on here as being better). The area has more then enough of a base and I would bet it will do fine in the long run...enough to meet the hoopla and pre-stadium hype that led to the stadium deal? That remains to be seen, but enough to compare favorably with other AAA teams.

However, I can see the point that Gwinnett Braves have only been around for a few years and it will take time to build a following. Compounding this problem is the fact that for 40 years Atlanta has been a major league town and home to one of the most storied franchises in the league. That's pretty hard to compete with even if the minor league team has the same name and affiliated with the big league team.
As for population, I don't think it has anything to do with it. We certainly have enough people to support a major and minor league team. People just need a reason to go.
