I recently moved up here with my family. Mother got a Job opportunity and a pay raise to help one of the lower retail outlet stores improve sales. So we moved here. But I can't seem to find a job anywhere. I have been filling out applications for 4 weeks now. everyone says they are hiring and then gives you the cold shoulder after you actually fill out an application. I'm just looking for retail, or around that level of work to get experience. Im open all hours, have some college done, clean record and everything.

honestly I need work, I need to pay back School stuff and Bills.

They're probably too busy right now, I'd try to call back some places after the second week in January after all the seasonal temp employees have departed.

I looked for months before finding a job and I have years of retail experience. I left retail in 2006 to work in Architecture. It's bad out there. Try not to get frustrated and just keep plugging away at it. Definitely touch base with a visit or phone call even if you apply online. It will help you stand out from other applicants. I've been told by my coworkers that January is a slow month in retail. Maybe because people spend so much at Christmas? There's a lot of people complaining about hours being cut.
