Default Ravenden

It is *small*. The sign as you're coming into town says that the population is around 300. The nearest decent shopping is probably Jonesboro, which, as I recall, is 45 min - 1 hour away.

Default Ravenden??? Why??

Ravenden seems to be a very boring place...lots of mosquitos...but at least you get to see the black ugly raven by the highway everyday.

Ravenden is just a place to live, there not many mosquitos. I live south of there at Cave City and love it.The people are the best I have ever found. I moved here when I was 14 after living in Canada and Texas and do not have any of my family here at all but these people have made me feel like I was born here. I suspect that it would be the same at Ravenden.
I also feel the the country is as beautiful as anywhere.
It is along way to a town of any size but that should be a choice. If you love to shop every weekend then do not move there. I fear that folks seem to think that our purpose in life is to be a consumer.
I dare to say that you can find peace of mind at Ravenden. There is the Spring river there close and is a real pretty river with good fishing.
Happiness comes from within, there is no such place as "Happyville"

Use to hunt at Ravenden Springs, just a few minutes from Ravenden, I personally love it there. Go thru Ravenden all the time on my way to mountain home, to Lake NorthFork there. Ash Flat is not that far away, and neither is Hardy as far as grocery stores go. Dont know if you have kids but If u do they will probably go to school at Sloan-Hendrix, a very nice school. Im close to Jonesboro myself and personally love that area up there.
