I loved the picture Dirt Roads, especially the last one.
The one of you on that cliff...wow, you're a brave soul. Looking at it, I'd be worried about it cracking under my feet. I worry about things like that.

From the perspective the picture was taken, it looks a lot scarier than when you are actually on it.
I hung back the first time to take pictures while my husband, brother, and kids went on. It looked like the kids were going to fall off the edge on the side! My heart was in my throat, I was trying to holler and tell my husband to get them back, and when I finally got there, I saw it wasn't like I thought.
There was a group of young couples there, though, that were
'way out on the end like this picture, and they had a few young kids, one about 3, and they were just letting them go all over the place, not paying any attention to them! I got nervous and was glad when they left so I could relax!
The last time my husband, brother, and son went there it started to rain lightly. My husband said something about it being cool if they could see a rainbow....they turned around and looked back toward the tip of the crag and saw one right there! He said it was the brightest one he'd ever seen, and it was right off the tip, like they could walk over and touch it! It was one of their most memorable moments from their "adventures". Unfortunately, they didn't have a camera with them.

I remember seeing a picture of a rock climber (I guess) hanging off the crag with only one hand. Can't remember what book though. It definitely was not me!

Actually, what you see in the photo
is Rich Mountain. From what I've been told, Rich Mountain is actually a ridge that runs from Mena to Talihina, Oklahoma with the summit being between Mena and Queen Wilhelmina Lodge. I guess that they look small because the summit, which is not in view in the photo, is at 2681' and Mena is 1169'. By the way, Rich Mountain is the 2nd tallest in Arkansas and I can see it from my front porch.

I hung back the first time to take pictures while my husband, brother, and kids went on. It looked like the kids were going to fall off the edge on the side! My heart was in my throat, I was trying to holler and tell my husband to get them back, and when I finally got there, I saw it wasn't like I thought.
