It's a small rural community between Mena and DeQueen on U.S. Highway 71 and the KCS Railroad. There are a few small businesses there and maybe some timber related businesses. They did have a school district but I don't know if it is now consolidated with nearby schools as has happened in several communities in AR. The nearest medical facility is in Mena which is about 20+ miles north.

If you have any specific questions I'll try to answer.

I just took a look at it, and it didn't look sad to me at all. It looks quiet, safe, unpretentious... and oh yeah, affordable! All the grass looks nicely trimmed. The church with the steeple on 246 looks freshly whitewashed. There's a school with a schoolbus on E. Adair Lane, that doesn't mean the school is in use but it all looks to be in good repair.

Now if there were a bunch of lots with tall weeds, empty storefronts with broken glass, graffiti, etc., I would say that looks "sad." Actually, my own lawn gets pretty weedy at times, I like to convince myself that it's "rustic."

To each their own.

Yes, I suppose it could be seen that way. But I did see lots of weedy lawns, an empty storefront (but a neat old building it was!), and that gas station with all the greasy equipment and trucks and piled-up tires right in the middle....ugh.

Don't get me wrong, I love small towns, but I live in a town very similar to this one, and after a while it gets depressing.

The old store was neat, and also both of the churches, especially the older one. And the large trees are nice, also. But I live close to a RR track right now, and I never want to live by one again!

Remoteness you will have. Depends on the location of the property. The Ouachita National Forest is near-by and if the property joins it, that will be even better. Also, lots of timber company property in the area and that would be almost as good.

Looking at the location, I would say most certainly.

However, the bears are very elusive. I have a number of bears that roam my place. I see their tracks, I hear their grunts, I find hair tufts where they've rubbed, but the only time I see them is when I bait them in the time leading up to and during season.

I don't know where you are coming from, but here baiting bears is legal.
