Sharkie, then you should contact Mohave County Mohave County - Home for possible employment. Offices in Kingman (main) and Bullhead City.
Acrylic, that is true--Kingman is elevated about 3000 feet above us here in Fort Mohave (500) and it's about 15 degrees cooler. Snows in Winter in some parts and more rain. We have higher winds, and much hotter temps--120 in Summer.

Kingman snow is not bad in all fairness: they avg. 6" a year which is usually gone by the end of the day ( 1-2" per storm).

Trust me: it is nothing like Wash DC in the winter, where I hail from.

PS: the City of Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley) received up to 8" of snow in the winter of 1988-89 while I still lived in SoCal

That wasn't snow, Bear - it was crystallized smog. (kidding--I was in SoCal in the late 80s too and remember when that happened...)

No problem! I'll just throw out some averages taken from Wikipedia:

Kingman

January
High - 54
Low - 31

July
High - 96
Low - 69

Bullhead City

January
High - 65
Low - 43

July
High - 112
Low - 79

So even though they're about 34 miles apart, elevation is the reason there's such a big difference in temperatures.

Are towns like Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City, and Kingman nice? Is the average rent cheaper (1 bed 1 bath/studio) in those 3 cities than Tucson you think? I just need to be in the desert. Phoenix is just too big. Medium sized cities/towns for me. I'm open for other city/town recommendations. Also, I'm not moving there right now...just doing my research and exploring. Thanks for any help.
I have been living in Mohave County for 8 years and I love it! I live in the Tri-area, three state in 5mins from each other.....CA,NV, and AZ....

Hi, I too am exploring possibilities, like kdog, with the exceptions of, I am in my mid 50's and I receive Social Security Disability,( after being in an accident that resulted in losing my left leg). I am active, but on on work restrictions. I am single and was also wondering if those studio apts-1/1, places you described Candace, include electrical? water? etc

I moved here as a single male and lived in Laughlin. there is plenty to do if you go to the casino bars and local ones. I find that part just like any town. except in laughlin drinks are 24/7
