Hi Folks,

We are entertaining a job offer in Cottonwood and are trying to figure where we should go. We have two daughters (12 and 9) and are looking for a family oriented community with good schools, all the services around (shopping, restaurants, cinemas and so on) and not too far from major cities. My oldest enjoys horseback riding and I am sure we will be able to find a nice ranch whereever we go !!!

From my research so far we concluded that I would have to commute at least an hour, we are right now looking at north of Phoenix like the Anthem area. I realize that Sedona is about half an hour from Cottonwood but we feel that housing is somewhat expensive (our budget is in the $450K range) and we would like to be closer to Phoenix.

First things, first, how would be the commute in a "normal" day, I don't mind driving but I don't want a sitting on I-17 and not moving.

Thanks !!!

From Prescott Valley which is a rapidly growing area and close to Prescott

Estimated Time: 1 hour 1 minute Estimated Distance: 30.39 miles(from Prescott valley to Cottonwood)

This might work for you.

Commute time? Used to commute from southeast of Boston opn the Southeast "expressway" How about that bigdig?
So, you finally got fed up with the atmosphere there? Get ready for culture shock.
You have freedom here in AZ.
I now live in Mammoth 50 mi. north of Tucson so cannot help much with your direct question.
GOOD LUCK
