Now that I have lived in Winslow for awhile I am no ready to give my opinion on this deplorable town.

Winslow is very repressed and sad looking. Gangs, Drunks, and unruly kids roam the streets. You cannot leave anything unlocked otherwise it will get stolen.

There is garbage all around the town and there are also stray animals running around everywhere. Most of the houses are not worth a crap in this town.

I plan to leave this deplorable town. Does anyone have any ideas of another small town where I might be able to go and live. I would like to find a small town that is not like Winslow, Arizona.

Interesting for a first post.

There are many other small towns in AZ. What brought you to Winslow in the first place? What are you looking for in terms of work, amenities, access to medical care, family issues, etc.?

Maybe the OP is an Eagles fan and assumed if Glenn Frey thought enough of the town to include it in his lyrics, it's got to be a happening place.

Not many small towns cheaper for cost of living than Winslow IMO. Verde Valley, Superior or Globe are upgrades and closer to major towns here.

What about Payson? It is a shame because Winslow has so much potential if it was put in the hands of folks who were interested in restoring it rather than being the corrupt money grabbers that I hear the city council is full of. (this from a man that had a business there)

But I agree, Winslow is, right now, the armpit of Northern Arizona.

Holbrook is a smaller version of Winslow IMO. Have to put Holbrook at numero uno. Joseph City and the AZ strip are the worst but I don't acknowledge those places as part of AZ.

I have been in N. Arizona many times and Winslow, to me, is the gateway to the west. I plan on settling in AZ around Sedona/Flagstaff. N. Arizona is a beautiful area and that is where I plan to finish my life.

Winslow, AZ is actually a great place to stop and learn about AZ history!

Flagstaff would be a huge contrast to Winslow, though of course not cheaper. Payson might work, or Prescott.
