Hello,
Our family will soon move to Michigan. My wife will most certainly work in Ann Arbor and I will work near Auburn hills. We are considering living in Ann Arbor, I will then commute all weekdays from AA to AH.
Mapquest is giving about an hour drive commute, which would be acceptable but I am wondering what this hour drive becomes in winter and what are the best time slots to avoid the traffic when making the AA->AH trip and the AH->AA trips.
thanks in advance for any reply

That's a potentially miserable commute. Could easily turn into a couple of hours if the traffic and weather are bad. Living in Ann Arbor might be worth it though. It's a fantastic place to live.

rush hour travel will turn that commute into a much longer one. The AM commute AA to AH and evening back is a popular one directionally on the freeways and not in a good way lol. If your work schedule can be flexible then adjusting it so your not traveling during the rush can make it a doable commute!

I once worked in downtown Pontiac during the 1990's. Auburn Hills wraps around the north and east of Pontiac, so results should be the same.

A coworker commuted from AA to Pontiac every weekday. He left his house at 9:00 AM and arrived at work at 10:00 AM. He claimed that whenever he left AA at any time between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM the commute was two hours instead of one.
